I am an editor, historian, and writer, a cyclist, and a music fan. I have taught history at McGill University, McMaster University, and Western University (UWO) and published widely in peer-reviewed academic journals. My own book, Becoming Holy in Early Canada, is published with McGill-Queen’s University Press. I hold degrees from McGill University, the University of Toronto, and Bishop’s University. I have been working full time as an editor and indexer since 2012.
I (he/him) am a settler of English and Scottish background living on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Neutral (Chonnonton) peoples. These lands are connected to several Treaties including Treaty 6 London Township, Treaty 7 Sombra Township, Treaty 21 Longwoods and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum, and are home to peoples of diverse nations, especially the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee Delaware Nation. I also spend significant time in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people. In my daily life I work to recognize Indigenous sovereignty on the lands where I live.
